Begin your day with an early hotel pickup from Marsa Alam or the surrounding area, followed by a scenic coastal transfer to the local marina. Awaiting you is a spacious dive boat equipped for both comfort and function—shaded decks, freshwater showers, rinse tanks, and an attentive crew already prepping for the day’s excursion to Abu Dabbab VI.
Though lesser known than its neighbors Abu Dabbab II and III, Abu Dabbab VI is arguably the most intriguing of the group—a semi-submerged pinnacle system that sits farther offshore, offering more pristine reef and richer biodiversity. The site is rarely crowded, lending each dive a sense of exclusivity.
As the boat cruises toward the site, your dive guide will brief you thoroughly—covering the reef structure, entry plans, depth profiles, current expectations, and key marine life to watch for. By mid-morning, you’ll be suiting up, ready for the first descent.
The dive typically begins on a sloping reef that fans out into a sandy plateau, dotted with coral heads and teeming with life. You may see a Napoleon wrasse glide past like a submarine, while moray eels peek from crevices and hawksbill turtles patrol the hard coral gardens. Hover near cleaning stations or explore deeper cuts in the reef wall for encounters with lionfish, scorpionfish, and ghost pipefish if you’re lucky.
Between dives, return to the boat for a fresh buffet-style lunch. Enjoy grilled vegetables, rice, kofta, salads, and fruit under shaded canopies while chatting with fellow divers or simply relaxing with the wind in your hair.
The second dive explores the other side of the reef or dives deeper into the sandy channels where garden eels ripple like sea grass and blue-spotted stingrays patrol the seabed. Depending on your certification level and dive profile, guides may lead you along the western edge of the pinnacle where depth increases and currents attract larger pelagic species.
With both dives completed, the return journey is unhurried. The boat glides homeward through golden afternoon light as logbooks are signed, gear is rinsed, and divers reflect on a site that somehow still feels like a secret.
