Tour Details
Marsa Egla is a breathtaking shore dive site located just 11 km from the city of Marsa Alam in the Red Sea. This site offers easy access to the water and is suitable for divers of all levels, from beginners to experienced. The bay format provides a comfortable and safe entry into the water, and the reef extends to the north and south, offering divers the option to choose which direction to explore.
One of the unique features of Marsa Egla is its sea grass, which attracts sea turtles and sometimes even dugongs. The location is also home to a diverse range of marine life, including scorpion fishes, moray eels, and an array of colorful fish species. Just 15 minutes away by car or minibus from Diving Station Reef Villa, this is the perfect starting point for all excursions to the sea.
Embark on a journey to the magical world of Marsa Egla and be captivated by the beauty of its underwater life, including the elusive dugongs. Dive into the crystal clear waters and experience the thrill of encountering these gentle sea cows in their natural habitat. With easy access from the shore, this dive site offers a unique opportunity for both novice and experienced divers to explore the Red Sea’s hidden treasures.
As you enter the water from the beach, the sandy bottom slopes gently downwards, allowing for a leisurely dive. The first part of the dive is a walk on the prairie where sea turtles are often seen and, on rare occasions, even dugongs. In the shallow waters, divers can admire the stunning coral formations, which are rich in species and color. As you dive deeper, you will encounter a rich and diverse underwater world, including soft corals, scorpion fish, lyon fish, glass fish, and a colony of anemones hosting the famous clown fish, also known as Nemo.
